About the Stream
Part 2 of my stream of The Witness. Starting off following Part 1 with 2 of 7 necessary lasers ready and fired at the mountain to make my way to the end of the game. But just how many more lasers are firing by the end of this stream? You’ll have to watch to find out…
Audio issues have mostly been solved, after I was made aware there was no sound coming from the game about 10 minutes in. Tune in for Part 3, which will hopefully mark the end of our journey with The Witness.
About The Witness
The Witness is a 2016 puzzle game originally released on Windows and PlayStation 4 by Thekla, Inc and later ported to several other formats. The game is set on an open world island with several different natural and man-made structures and environments, including a forest, marsh, temple, castle and the like. Almost the entirity of the island is available at once, and gameplay consists of solving grid-based puzzles of moving a beam of light across a specific path.
Each location has its own set of rules for each puzzle, with clues usually presented within the environment around the player. For example an early area involves the grid looking like nearby trees, with the trees having an apple on one of their branches – the aim of the puzzle being to make the light follow that branch. By solving all the puzzles within an area, a giant beam of light fires towards a mountain in the centre of the island. The aim of the game is to fire at least seven of these beams of light, and solve the puzzles unlocked within the mountain.
