Hey there everyone and welcome to the seventh, and final, part of my Kingdom Hearts Final Mix playthrough where I set out with Sora on his journey to become a master of the Keyblade. This isn’t strictly my first time playing this game, having played the original game on PlayStation 2, but this is my first time properly playing the Final Mix version of the game (on the PlayStation 4 re-release of the game), which includes new abilities, scenes, enemies, and more.
In this seventh stream I end up unexpectedly finishing the game. Unexpectedly because I went into this stream only expecting to try to complete the Moogle synthesis list and make my way through the game’s superbosses, not expecting to actually kill them all (including “Unknown”, the Final Mix-exclusive boss that I have never fought before). So I start off by making my way to the final save point, to unlock the last few enemies and their item drops I needed, then I finish off the side stuff of the game, and then we proceed to the darkest depths of the game to take on the final gauntlet of bosses. That’s Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix down.
Until next time…buh-bye!
About Kingdom Hearts/Kingdom Hearts Final Mix
Kingdom Hearts is a Japanese Action-RPG video game developed by Square Enix (when it was still known as Squaresoft) in conjunction with Disney and originally released on PlayStation 2 in 2002. The game was later re-released exclusively in Japan several months later with enhancements as Kingdom Hearts Final Mix, which was eventually released world-wide as part of the PlayStation 3 collection Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD ReMIX (with some other releases down the road afterwards).
In Kingdom Hearts you play as Sora as he searches for his friends Riku and Kairi after his world is swallowed up by the darkness. He gains the power to use the Keyblade, a weapon used to fight said darkness, and discovers that there are many other worlds out there. He is accompanied by Disney’s very own Goofy and Donald as he travels to these worlds, based on properties from Disney’s pantheon, including Alice in Wonderland, Hercules, and Aladdin. The game is played in the third person and uses staples from both action games and RPGs, with elements of platforming, shooters, and an emphasis on exploration.
