Hey there everyone, this stream is from the Final Chapter of the Dragon Quest Builders story, set in the dark region of Tantegel. This region of the game is closest to the throne of the Dragonlord, and seems to be the most affected by his darkness. This chapter is also set out differently: we aren’t immediately given the Banner of Hope to place in the main town (Tantegel) to be rebuilt, we don’t even get to go to the town until we’ve gained our first Teleportal, which isn’t a battle reward. In this second of two streams, I finally end my time with Dragon Quest
Builders, after over a year of spread out gameplay and streams. The time has come to bring the battle to the Dragonlord’s doorstep, though the goddess Rubiss continually reminds us it is not our duty to do so. We finish setting up Tantegel’s defences, we have a surprise encounter with the original hero who agreed to split-rule the world with the Dragonlord. How does the game finally end? You’ll just have to watch to find out…
Until next time…buh-bye!
About Dragon Quest Builders
Dragon Quest Builders is a 2016 sandbox action-RPG game developed by Square Enix, which I am playing on the PlayStation 4. The game is a spinoff of the Dragon Quest series, and acts as a ‘What If?’ sequel set in the world of Alefgard, the world of the very first game. Heavily inspired by Minecraft, the game consists of a four-chapter story in which the player can restore light to different parts of the world, and a sandbox mode allowing full creative allowance.
The story takes place countless years after an alternate ending in which the hero of Dragon Quest accepted the evil Dragonlord’s proposal to each rule half of the world; this led to the Dragonlord tricking the hero, and claiming the world for himself and his monsters. Generations later, a mystical ‘Builder’ awakens in a chamber and is tasked with bringing light back to the world of Alefgard by the goddess Rubiss. And thus begins our adventure!
