Hey there everyone, and welcome to the third and final part of my Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory. For people who haven’t been around my streams before you may not know that I’m a huge fan of the Kingdom Hearts franchise, and have (up to the point of playing this game) played both Kingdom Hearts 3 (on Critical Mode, and then I also played the ReMind DLC) and Kingdom Hearts Final Mix, with plans on playing the rest of the franchise too. So this rhythm game overview of the entire franchise so far was definitely a Day 1 buy for me, and then I had impromptu streams of it three nights running to play it!
In this final stream I rhythmically play my way through the events of Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance and Kingdom Hearts 3 as narrated to us by Kairi, as well as the game’s new exclusive content and story (finally! Turns out it’s all together at the end of the game). I explore worlds, I do pushing buttons in time to music, I don’t always do it well. I sing. I don’t always do it well. And I leave things ready for another day, which will be the final part of this playthrough!
Until next time…buh-bye!
About Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory
Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory is a 2020 rhythm action game developed by Square Enix and indieszero, and published worldwide by Square Enix for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch in November 2020. It is a retelling of the events of the series so far, while also being set after Kingdom Hearts III’s Re Mind downloadable content scenario. Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory is a rhythm action game featuring both single and multiplayer gameplay. Players press buttons with the right timing to get an Excellent, Good, or Miss, depending on the timing. A Miss affects the player’s health, which causes the game to end when it has run out. Players work to level up the characters’ health and attack power, with each character having two types of ranged and melee attack abilities.
Narrated by franchise-recurring character Kairi, the game retells the events of every Kingdom Hearts title so far through the navigating of worlds and important events of all previous games of the series, with the musical tracks experienced as a selection of characters from the entire franchise. The game also features a brand new scenario starring Kairi, set a year after the end of Kingdom Hearts 3, tying in to “one year later” scenes of the ReMind scenario.
