Hey there everyone, and welcome to the first part of my Knack playthrough. So to explain why I’m playing this game (I’ve just noticed I always explain why I choose a game, why do I do that?), hours before starting this stream I got a notification that my PlayStation 5 was due to arrive the next day and although I didn’t fully trust it, the knowledge that the console came with a built in game designed to show off it’s controller (Astro’s Playroom) made me think of Knack, the game developed to show off the PS4’s particle physics processing, the big thing Sony were advertising. So I decided to play it, start the new generation by playing the very first game of the previous generation, because that’s how we roll here at TonyKM Towers.
In this first part of my playthrough I get to grips with adorable little Knack, a being created out of ancient artefacts, known as Relics, which in the time of this game are used as a source of energy. We go take on some Goblins alongside a team including the totally-not-at-all evil billionaire Viktor and his robot forces.
Until next time…buh-bye!
About Knack
Knack is a platforming video game developed by Japan Studio and published by Sony Computer Entertainment for the PlayStation 4 video game console. The game was released in most countries in November 2013, with a Japanese release following in February 2014. The player navigates the titular character Knack through a series of levels viewed in a fixed camera, third-person-style view.
Knack is a living humanoid organism that consists of Relics; a large central Relic is always surrounded by a varying number of smaller Relics. Knack utilizes jumping, dodging, punching, and using enhanced energy-based powers, in order to progress through the colourful environments, which are populated with enemies. The story follows Knack and his creator on a journey to save humankind from a species known as the Goblins. However, one of Knack’s creator’s former friends goes rogue, and Knack and his allies must stop the antagonist’s evil plans.
