Hey there everyone, and welcome to the second, and final, part of my Concrete Genie playthrough! I’ve wanted to play this game since I first saw a trailer for it, but then it’s actual release totally flew under my radar, so here we are 2 years later!
In this final stream we return to the land of Denska after I spent a bit of time after the last stream trying to get all my missing art pages. I didn’t, but I find them quickly after we start streaming, that’s how these things happen hahaha. We actually finish the story in this stream, allowing Ash to keep connecting with the bullies, develop his connection with Luna more, and then we even go and go Trophy hunting because I was so close to an ever-tempting Platinum Trophy.
Until next time…buh-bye!
About Concrete Genie
Concrete Genie is an action-adventure game developed by Pixelopus, a developer part of SIE Worldwide Studios, for the PlayStation 4. The game was announced at Sony’s PlayStation Media Showcase at Paris Games Week 2017 on October 30, 2017, and was released on October 8, 2019. The player controls Ash and uses the DualShock 4’s motion controls to create landscapes in the town of Denska. These landscapes turn into living portraits. How the player paints creatures and what colour they paint them will affect their personalities. For example, red paint will grant a creature fire-breathing abilities. In addition to free-style drawing, there is a set of core puzzles in the game that the player has to solve through their artwork.
Concrete Genie takes place in a small port town named Denska. Once thriving, it has been abandoned after an oil spill caused by a tanker, along with it being slowly taken over by a force simply called Darkness, which stems from negative emotions. The story focuses on Ash, a young teenager who spends his time drawing on his sketchbook. He is frequently targeted by a group of bullies: Zack, Beatrice, Froggie, and siblings Chuck and Janie, who steal his sketchbook and rip out it’s pages, scattering them across the town. They then force him into a cable car bound for the lighthouse, where Ash meets Luna, one of his drawings come to life, and she guides Ash to a magical paintbrush with which she wants Ash to dispel the Darkness that has taken root across Denska.
