About the Stream
Join me for Part 5 of my playthrough of Final Fantasy IX on PlayStation 4. This is by no means my first time playing Final Fantasy IX; I’ve played it several times in it’s original PlayStation 1 form, but I haven’t played it for several years, and the call to dip my toes back into it’s nostalgic embrace hit me. I took advantage of the fact that it has been ported to PlayStation 4 with a whole host of trophies to reacquaint myself with this old love of mine.
So there’s no real strategy to this, play a game I know and love, and gush about it to anyone willing to actually watch me play it.
In Part 5 of this stream new party member Eiko takes me to her village, where I meet a lot of moogles. We make our way to the source of the mist of the Mist Continent, and we fight a thousand year old tree. An old familiar face makes a surprise reappearance, and so does another, and another face makes an expected reappearance. What will happen next?
Until next time…buh-bye!
About Final Fantasy IX
Final Fantasy IX is a Japanese RPG developed and published by Squaresoft (now Square Enix) originally for the PlayStation in 2000. For this stream we are playing the 2017 PlayStation 4 remaster. In this game, players primarily control Zidane as he navigates through the high fantasy world of Gaia, interacting with non-player characters and fighting enemies in semi-turn-based battle sequences.
The story starts in the city of Alexandria on the Mist Continent of Gaia, where events take Zidane and his newly met friends on a journey to wrestle for control of the world’s future with a sinister evil. The game is a tale of identity, the bonds of friendship and family, and what it means to have a place to call home…all told on a backdrop of incredibly colourful and varied characters.
